Author Talk & Book Signing with Marita Golden

May 16 @ 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EDT

The Wide Circumference of Love
by Marita Golden

From an award-winning author, a moving story of acceptance, adaptation, and unconditional love in the face of one of life’s greatest challenges.

The Wide Circumference of Love comes at a time when African Americans “are two times more likely to develop late-onset Alzheimer’s disease than whites,” according to the Alzheimer’s Association. Back with her latest novel in more than a decade, acclaimed author Marita Golden deftly explores this nuanced and timely subject through the African-American experience.

“It is always heartening to see women step up to the writer’s table. When the results are as adroit and affecting as Marita Golden’s work, it is more than satisfying it is a cause for celebration.” —Toni Morrison, Nobel Laureate

Join us on May 16, 2017 from 7PM to 9PM at Oxon Hill Library for an author talk and book signing with Marita Golden. Marita is an acclaimed, award-winning author of more than a dozen works of fiction and nonfiction. She cofounded and serves as president emeritus of Hurston/Wright Foundation. Marita is the recipient of many awards including the Writers for Writers Award presented by Barnes & Noble and Poets & Writers, and the Fiction Award for her novel After awarded by the Black Caucus of the American Library Association.
